ABOUT VICKY

Vicky Warwick is a British musician based in Los Angeles and London. She has been playing bass guitar for twenty-two years and is also a backing vocalist, synth and keys player, and songwriter.

Vicky moved to London when she was eighteen, bright-eyed and eager to begin her studies for a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music Performance from the London College of Music/Tech Music Schools. Her first essay assignment was to write about Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ film and album, and she couldn’t believe how exciting her homework was.

She left her studies early to take an opportunity to join the in-house band at Xenomania, a pop-production house responsible for hits from a wide range of artists, including Cher, Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Kylie Minogue, and The Pet Shop Boys. After a stint working full-time at the Xenomania house, Vicky returned to her degree and finished her studies. With some experience under her belt, she was hired for more gigs and TV shows in London, appearing on The X-Factor live shows and on television performances with Craig David, and Cee Lo Green.

Since then, she has kept working her way through the music industries of London, New York, and Los Angeles. Her work has led her to tour the world, playing for thousands of people on stages and TV screens across America, Australia, Europe, South America, and Asia. She has had a wonderful and varied client list, including Guy Chambers, Charli XCX, Hailee Steinfeld, Big Time Rush, blackbear, Hope Tala, Matt Maltese, Hey Violet, Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey, Frances, Lila Drew, Robert Delong, and Gothic Tropic. She also has appeared on television with many artists, including Rod Steward, Cyndi Lauper, and Paris Jackson.

Her notable TV/radio performances include Saturday Night Live, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Today Show, The American Music Awards, The MTV Movie Awards, Top of the Pops (UK), Radio One’s Live Lounge (UK), The Brit Awards (UK), The Graham Norton Show (UK), Alan Carr’s Chatty Man (UK), Live at the London Palladium (UK), Michael McIntyre’s Big Show (UK), Dancing with the Stars (AU), and Sunrise (AU).

Vicky has also performed at many prestigious venues and festivals, including Madison Square Garden, The Forum, The O2 Arena London, O2 World Arenas, Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury Festival, Latitude Festival, Bestival, The Isle of Wight Festival, Reading and Leeds Festival, Radio One’s Big Weekend, Shepherds Bush Empire, The Greek and Wembley Stadium.

International touring, songwriting, teaching, and studio recording are what make Vicky happiest. Music education is a passion for Vicky, and she has been teaching privately and leading masterclasses in the world’s leading contemporary music colleges (BIMM, ICMP, MI) for many years.

In her spare time, she interviews fellow musicians and crew for her blog about touring, called Where Are We Again? She is also a guest writer for Bass Magazine - read her articles here.
